You've made it to the end. McLovin is our AI voice assistant — ask anything about our programs, how we work, or whether P2P is the right fit for your studio. No forms, no waiting. Just talk.
It's not talent that separates the $10K/month photographers from the $1K/month ones. It's these three things.
0:00Are you a photography bank robber or you
0:03just another person with a camera? In
0:05this video, I'm going to talk to you about
0:07why 10% of photographers are generating
0:10over 90% of all the sales, while the rest
0:13are left to pick up all the scraps. So,
0:17what is the average photographer doing
0:19compared to the 10%? And I'm going to
0:21explain this using a small anecdote.
0:24Most photographers treat the business of
0:26photography as a career. They think
0:27there's a certain amount of time they
0:28can put in before they can start
0:30charging premium prices. So, as most
0:32people with careers, every month they go
0:35to the ATM machine, and they wait in line
0:37with all the other photographers. And
0:39they wait in line, and they step forward.
0:41And every month they put their hand out,
0:44and they're getting paid their worth,
0:45just as a career. So, they might be
0:47making up to $3,000, and every year it might
0:51be going up incrementally. And I get it,
0:53if you're coming from a corporate career
0:55or a traditional nine-to-five, that's
0:57typically how it functions. What is the
0:59other 10% of photographers, the bank
1:01robbers, what are they doing? The bank
1:03robbers in this situation, they actually
1:05walk up to the bank, and they look at it.
1:07And they ask themselves, 'How
1:09can I extract the most amount of money
1:11from this situation in the least amount
1:13of time?' And of course, in this situation,
1:15they are not actually robbing anyone. This is
1:17just an illustration to demonstrate my
1:18point. And these bank robbers, they treat
1:20their photography as a business, and the
1:23way that successful entrepreneurs do.
1:26They might actually try to hit the bank
1:27every other week, and they might come
1:30away with a few failures. And every time
1:32they go, they learn something, and they'll
1:34get better. And it doesn't matter that
1:36they have a few failures or a few
1:37setbacks, because they're continuing to
1:39learn. And the one time they hit it, boom!
1:41Hit the jackpot. And the great thing is,
1:44and listen: obviously, they're not
1:46going into an actual bank. But once they
1:49start developing their systems, they
1:50start developing their process, their
1:52prices, and establishing their value in
1:54their community,
1:54then it's easy to replicate every single
1:57month. And that's the reason that some
1:59photographers are still maybe making
2:01$1,000, $2,000, and they have it as a side
2:03job, while other photographers jump
2:05straight into the business. My question
2:08to you is, are you 90% of the
2:09photographers, or are you going to be a bank
2:12robber?
2:13Before I get a bunch of nasty
2:15comments saying, 'Hey, Humberto, they're
2:17not actually stealing from us,' and
2:18please don't talk about
2:20photography.
2:21That is you completely walking away
2:22with the wrong message. What I'm saying
2:24here is they'll do whatever it
2:26takes to learn their craft, to provide
2:29the most value in the shortest amount of
2:31time. If you want to see a case study
2:33where we actually took a boudoir
2:34photographer, we used Facebook ads, some
2:36Google Ads, redesigned some changes on our
2:38website. If you want to see how that
2:39happened, make sure you click on the
