# Is your site ready for AI agents?

When a potential client asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for the best photographer in your city, will AI recommend your studio, or your competitor? Find out in 30 seconds.

The Is It Agent Ready? Scanner is a free diagnostic tool built by Photography to Profits for portrait photography studio owners who want to know whether AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can find, read, and recommend their business.

The scanner checks 21 signals across five categories, plus an optional agentic-commerce check that is never counted against your score. Discoverability: whether the site has a robots.txt that allows AI crawlers, an XML sitemap, an llms.txt summary file, and an llms-full.txt expanded index. Content Clarity: whether the site includes JSON-LD structured data and whether meta descriptions and Open Graph tags are present. Agent Access: whether the site responds to HTTP requests with Accept: text/markdown (markdown content negotiation), whether HTTP Link headers advertise agent discovery files, whether robots.txt explicitly allows known AI bots, and whether it declares Content Signals for AI content usage. API, Auth, MCP & Skill Discovery: whether the site has an MCP server card, an API catalog (RFC 9727), a machine-readable OpenAPI spec, OAuth/OIDC discovery endpoints, OAuth Protected Resource metadata, an auth.md file, an agent skills index, an A2A agent card, DNS-AID records, WebMCP declarations, and a Web Bot Auth signing directory. Commerce (optional): whether the site exposes agentic-commerce endpoints (ACP/AP2) so agents can transact on a customer's behalf.

Each signal is weighted by its impact on real AI discoverability. The scanner returns a score from 0 (Getting started) to 100 (Agent-Ready). Aim for 80+, which covers the core signals AI needs to find, read, and recommend a studio, and it is the realistic target every site should shoot for. Most photography studio websites score 15–35 today. Advanced capabilities such as custom OAuth 2.1, MCP, and DNS-AID matter when a site exposes agent tools. Optional A2A support is informational when a business does not operate an agent-to-agent service, so omitting it does not reduce the score. The Photography to Profits website is the reference standard we build to, but 80+ is the goal that matters.

The tool is entirely free. No account required. No email needed to see your score. The scan runs in approximately 30 seconds and returns a full breakdown by category with pass, fail, and partial results for every signal.

The scanner offers three service levels for studios that want to improve their score. The Audit (1 week): deep scan, market benchmark, prioritized action plan. The Build (2–4 weeks): full implementation of structured data, llms.txt, markdown negotiation, MCP endpoints, schema markup. The Partnership (ongoing): monitoring, protocol updates, content, and competitive maintenance as AI evolves.

ChatGPT serves 800 million users weekly. Perplexity answers 100 million queries a day. 97% of photography studio websites are currently invisible to these tools. The studio that gets cited first in an AI answer wins the inquiry, and the booking.

## Features

### Discoverability Check

We verify robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, and llms-full.txt: the four files AI crawlers look for before attempting to read your site.

### Content Clarity Check

We test for JSON-LD structured data and proper meta tags: the signals that tell AI what your studio does, where you are, and who you serve.

### Agent Access Check

We confirm your site can respond in markdown format and that your HTTP headers advertise the discovery files agents look for.

### Infrastructure Check

We look for advanced signals (MCP server card, OpenAPI spec, OAuth discovery, and agent skills index) that allow AI to take actions on your behalf.

## How It Works

### Step 1: Enter your studio URL

Paste your website URL into the scanner. Any domain works: Showit, WordPress, Squarespace, or a custom build.

### Step 2: We run 20+ checks in parallel

The scanner simultaneously tests all five categories of AI readiness signals and returns results in approximately 30 seconds.

### Step 3: Get your score and breakdown

You receive a score from 0 to 100 plus a pass/fail result for every individual signal. No email required to see your results.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What does the scanner actually check?

We check 20+ signals that determine whether AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity can find, understand, and recommend your studio: structured data, llms.txt, markdown negotiation, MCP endpoints, API catalogs, OAuth discovery, and more. Every result is explained in plain English.

### Is this only for photographers?

The scanner works on any website, but our optimization services are built specifically for portrait photography studios: boudoir, wedding, newborn, family, branding, and senior. The benchmarks and recommendations are all tuned to how photography clients search and book.

### How long does the scan take?

About 30 seconds. Enter your URL, we run every check at once, and you get your score with a full breakdown immediately. No waiting, no email required to see your score.

### What is a good score?

Most photography studio websites score between 15 and 35 out of 100. A score above 70 means you are well ahead of your competition. Our own site scores 100, and that is the standard we build to for every client.

### Why should I care about AI agents if my clients still use Google?

ChatGPT has 800 million monthly users. Perplexity handles 100 million queries a day. When a bride asks an AI to recommend the best wedding photographer in her city, the AI recommends studios whose websites it can actually read. If your site is not set up for that, you are invisible to a growing channel.
